Some exciting news has come from the environment minister’s office. A new scheme called SRES, which stands for Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme, will be implemented in January 2011. In a nutshell, if you install solar hot water you will get a $1,200 rebate, and if you install solar electricity, you will get $6,200 for a 1.5 Kilowatt system. Both of those are more generous than current rebates and incentives, so it would probably be worth waiting.
